The Willett Dry Utopia
An elevated, un-filtered take on the classic Dry Manhattan, designed to keep the whiskey's backbone completely intact through controlled dilution.
Build
- 2 ozWillett Family Estate 4-Year Rye (113-proof)
- 0.75 ozHigh-quality dry vermouth (Dolin Dry or Noilly Prat)
- 1 barspoonThin Homemade Utopias-Infused Cherry Liquid
- Garnish1 Homemade Utopias-Infused Tart Cherry (patted dry) + 1 wide lemon twist
Glassware
Smooth, ultra-thin, long-stemmed crystal coupe.
Method
- Build & Chill Combine the Willett, dry vermouth, and thin Utopias liquid in a separate mixing glass without ice. Fill the serving coupe with ice and water to pull out all the glass heat.
- Stir Fill the mixing glass to the brim with large, dense ice cubes and stir smoothly for 25 to 30 seconds.
- Strain Dump the ice-water from the coupe, give it a swift snap-shake to remove residual drops, and strain the cocktail neat.
- Garnish Express the lemon twist over the rim, discard the peel, and drop in the dry-tapped cherry.
A clinical lesson in proof maintenance — the 113-proof rye cuts through the water melt while the thin Utopias liquid distributes star anise and malt evenly from first sip to last drop.
