The Tank Brewing Co. · Miami, Florida Freedom Tower American Amber Ale · 5.3% ABV · May 2026
Sight Pours a deep mahogany-amber, nearly ruby when the light catches it. Crystal clear. A thick, dense, bright white head builds to two fingers and holds. The amber malt and crystal malt doing exactly what they should — this is a beer that looks the part before you've taken a sip.
Smell Dark bread leads on the nose, present and confident even at temperature. As it opens, orange peel emerges — the Cascade hops making their American identity known. Stone fruit lingers underneath, quiet but there. Floral notes lift the edges without dominating.
Taste Toffee and caramel arrive first, rounded and approachable. The roasted malt character comes through distinctly — leaning toward the roastier side without tipping into bitterness. Orange peel threads through the mid-palate, the Cascade hops keeping things bright and unmistakably American.
Mouthfeel Medium-bodied, opening up and integrating as it warms. What begins slightly lean at 55°F becomes more cohesive with a few degrees of warmth. The carbonation is lively, contributing to an overall approachability that makes this an easy drinker.
Malty and crisp at first, then warming into something drier — a woody, oak-like character that emerges as the beer climbs in temperature. Clean and lingering without overstaying its welcome.
A Miami beer that wears its American identity proudly — Cascade hops, amber malt, and a roasty backbone that settles confidently into place as it warms. Freedom Tower doesn’t ask much of you, and gives back an honest, drinkable amber that rewards patience. Brewed in the heart of the Magic City and named for a landmark that means something, it carries both with quiet confidence.
